Cheesy Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip in purple polka dot slow cookerIn this house, we love our Kansas State Wildcat Football and have held season tickets longer than I care to admit being out of school. But let’s just say it’s long enough to make game day food kind of my thing. And as much as I love to go to games, I’m not going to lie that it can be so much easier to watch on TV and have a whole row of slow cookers going on the counter with all the game day recipes! Especially when I can have buffalo chicken dip in my Crock-Pot with the cute purple polka dots!

Cheesy Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip served in metal bowl on white platter with veggies and chipsIf you are like me and love anything buffalo sauce flavor then I think this is the dip for you! It’s easy and it’s tasty! No need to plan out when to have it ready or how to keep it hot like a lot of the oven baked recipes, just throw it in the slow cooker and done!

I might also mention it’s pretty good cold and/or reaheated. I may have eaten the leftovers for lunch for a couple days after. Or maybe it was breakfast. Whatever.

  1. Misread the instructions and put the cheddar cheese and dry ranch mix in at the beginning. I’m hoping that is OK? I have the crock set to low.

  2. Hi! I had this at a party like forever ago and have been waiting on the chance to finally cook it! Im having a work crock-potluck and need to cook it for the next day. I assume i can do the chicken portion the night before and melt the cream cheese and cheddar day of in the crockpot? Or is it better to cook it all the night before and just reheat for work?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Taylor! Yep, I would just cook up the chicken ahead of time and then add it back to the cheeses they of. Make sure you start it a little early so they have time to melt before you serve! Hope everyone enjoys it!

Ok, first….. WOW! This is the BEST BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP I HAVE EVER HAD! Such a hit and by far the most requested item for me to make when my wife and I go to or have get togethers. Seriously, no exaggeration but all other Buffalo chicken dips are pretty much garbage compared to this! This is a definite must try.

What heat do you put it at after you’ve shredded the chicken and added the cheeses? I cooked the chicken on high but since there’s a low option to this recipe I don’t want to burn the cheese. Or should it just be on auto/warm?

    1. Hi Mateo! I would let it heat either on high or low while you keep an eye on it until its the temperature that you like (nice and bubbly but not burnt) and then switch it to warm if possible.

  4. I use the grill and ready chicken in the freezer section. I microwave the chicken and cut the pieces smaller. Then put in the crock pot with everything and its done in like 30 minutes

  5. Hey Jennifer, just wanted to come back and apologize. I need to read ALL the directions before I post or ask a question (lol). Sorry for taking up your time. But I’m still going to fix this may be for Christmas for us to snack on. 🙂

  6. Hi Jennifer, I do have a question on the Slow Cooker Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip, that looks delicious by the way my son is going to love this and me when I make it hahaha. :). Do you put the chicken in raw or cooked? Thanks so much. Can’t wait to try this.

    1. It’s super hard to say as you never know how much people are going to eat, BUT, I guess I would say that if you are having several appetizers I would plan this working for a group of 5-10 people? Hope that helps.
