Ingredients You’ll Need To Make Freezer Meal Sweet Potato Chili:
- red onion
- jarred minced garlic
- jalapeno peppers
- sweet potatoes
- black beans
- ancho chili powder
- chili powder
- chipotle chili powder
- cumin
- salt
- fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- crushed fire-roasted tomatoes
- chicken broth or sub vegetable broth
How To Make Freezer Meal Sweet Potato Chili In A Slow Cooker:
- Add all ingredients to freezer bag and shake to combine.
- Remove air and seal
- Freeze for up to 3 months
- Thaw overnight in fridge before cooking
- Add thawed ingredients to slow cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hour or low for 6-8 until potatoes tender
Pro Tips:
Serve Sweet Potato Chili topped with cheese, sour cream, crushed chips, and chopped cilantro for a hearty, filling meal. It’s also delicious served without any toppings.
Want your Sweet Potato Chili to be less spicy? All you have to do is reduce or eliminate the chipotle powder.

- 2 oz diced red onion minced
- 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic
- 2 jalapeno peppers ribs and seeds removed, diced
- 1 pound sweet potatoes peeled and diced into bite sized pieces
- 14 oz can black beans drained and rinsed
- 2 teaspoons ancho chili powder
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chipotle chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 14 oz fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- 28 oz crushed fire-roasted tomatoes
- 1 cup chicken broth or sub vegetable broth
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to freezer bag and shake to combine.
- Remove air and seal
- Freeze for up to 3 months
