Slow Cooker Buffalo Ranch Chicken Tenders
After a marathon of cooking all last week and a half-marathon of eating leftovers all weekend I am finally ready to move on from mashed potatoes and Thanksgiving. It was so awesome having our family here at our home to celebrate (and eat!) with us and all the food was really amazing. The last bit of turkey is headed to the freezer so plan on some turkey dishes coming before Christmas! In the meantime I’m thinking about some lighter, healthier eating but it can’t compromise on flavor. These buffalo chicken tenders do the trick! Super simple to make and super versatile, this is just the kind of food I’m craving right now.
Sometimes I like making a smaller batch of these just for me so that I can have them for lunch all week. They work really well with a side of cottage cheese or chopped up on top of a salad and drizzled with a little blue cheese dressing.
For dinner these are great with a side of crispy sweet potato fries. You could even chop up the chicken and serve it with toothpicks and a side of dip as a great appetizer at a potluck or holiday gathering.
The ingredients are simple and you can dress it up any way you like. I used my homemade ranch seasoning but in a pinch just sub it out for a package of dried Hidden Valley Ranch or something similar. Time to max out the flavor!!!
Slow Cooker Ranch Buffalo Chicken Tenders
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken tenders
- 1 tablespoon homemade ranch seasoning
- 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (plus additional for dipping)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Blue cheese crumbles for garnish optional
Instructions
- Place chicken in slow cooker
- Whisk sauce, broth and seasonings and pour over chicken
- Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 or until chicken is fully cooked through
- Serve garnished with additional buffalo wing sauce and blue cheese crumbles if desired
Question- how would I modify the recipe if I’m using a 2.5 lbs bag of frozen chicken tenders? I want to just throw them in frozen first thing in the morning before I leave for work.
I would thaw them overnight. I don’t recommend using frozen chicken in the slow cooker for food safety purposes. https://ask.usda.gov/s/article/Is-it-safe-to-cook-frozen-foods-in-a-slow-cooker-or-crock-pot
This was extremely easy to make and had the perfect amount of spice for me. My boyfriend, a little too much. I warned him before adding this to my list of recipes if he wanted me to try making it knowing he’s not really a fan of spicey foods. (Me, I could literally eat something that is on fire and be fine) I’m sure being the typical male too engrossed into the TV didn’t really hear a word I said and just said “yeah” agreeing that he’d eat it. So what did I do? Made him eat it and enjoy it!! hahahaha No seriously though, we actually both thought the heat was tame enough for him to handle and with the ranch it added a great flavor. I’ll definitely be making these again soon!
So glad to hear you enjoyed this recipe! Thanks for your comment!
This was easy and great tasting. I have shared this recipe with my brother and sister to cook for their families. Thanks for this !!! 🥰
Just made these and they are awesome! I have a small business that I run out of my home, so I’m always working every day. Plus the usual daily duties of cooking meals, laundry and cleaning the house. I had chicken tenders that were near the expiration date and am so tired of the usual recipes. I found this and it looked so easy (and it is!) that I thought “why not?” I cooked on high 3 hours. Chicken is so tender it’s falling apart, but I like it that way. Sauce is excellent (I used 1 TBSP of the Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning, didn’t have any homemade around). As I’m typing this my hubby is heating up mac n cheese to mix the chicken and sauce with. I do believe you have a recipe like that, gotta just find it now! I LOVE crockpot cooking and now am a big fan. Thank you so much for a great tasting easy recipe!
Making this today with Mike’s buffalo sauce and the house smells awesome. I am thickening the sauce a both with flour and adding S&P. Going to serve with Hasselback potatoes brushed with butter and my remaining ranch seasoning. Thanks for the recipe!
