Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 5- oz can water chestnuts chopped
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce

Instructions

  • Place ground pork in slow cooker and use a spatula or wooden spoon to crumble it up
  • In a small bowl or a measuring cup, mix remaining ingredients
  • Pour liquid mixture over meat in slow cooker
  • Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours until pork is fully cooked and no longer pink
  • Give everything a stir to break up and combine
  • Serve pork filling on lettuce leaves

Notes

  • Store leftover pork filling in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Store the lettuce leaves separately to prevent wilting.
  • Prepare the lettuce ahead of time and store it wrapped in damp paper towels to preserve freshness.
  • Reheat pork filling in the microwave or on the stovetop over medium-low heat and serve the reheated filling in fresh lettuce wraps.
  • Use a slotted spoon when serving to avoid soggy lettuce.
