6 tablespoons butter 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup buttermilk
Melt butter and let cool slightly
Add flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and baking soda to a bowl and stir together
Add cooled melted butter to buttermilk and then stir into flour mixture
Drop into 7 equal balls onto greased cookie sheet or into biscuit pan
Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown
Optional, brush with additional melted butter during last 2-3 minutes of baking time
