Pressure Cooker Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes are a quick and delicious way to have real homemade mashed potatoes in no time! Perfect for family dinners!

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ½ cup cream or half and half (more to taste/texture desired)
  • 4 T butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt


  • Add water to bottom of pressure cooker or Instant Pot
  • Peel potatoes if desired and cut into chucks about 2 inches each
  • Place on trivet in electric pressure cooker
  • Cover and set to 8 minutes high pressure according to manufacturer instructions
  • Perform a quick release according to manufacturer instructions (each pot is a little different)
  • Remove potatoes to bowl
  • Add cream, butter and salt to taste
