Turkey Burgers with Goat Cheese & Peach BBQ Sauce

- 1 1/4 pounds ground turkey (mix of white and dark meat, no more than 93% lean)
- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 4 oz goat cheese
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store bought)
- 2 tablespoons peach preserves
- Sliced red onions optional
- 4 hamburger buns optional
Mix together breadcrumbs and milk and let soak for 5 minutes
Add mixture to ground turkey along with garlic, seasonings and salt and pepper and use hands to combine well
Divide into 4 equal amounts and press gently into burger patties
Preheat grill to medium high to high heat
Add burgers and grill for 6-8 minutes per side depending on thickness (need to reach 165 degrees internally)
Top with a slice of goat cheese and leave on cooler side of grill for about 1 minute for cheese to melt
Whisk together BBQ sauce and peach preserves
Top each burger with a couple spoonfuls of sauce and serve on buns with fresh sliced onion or as desired
