Turkey burgers with a simple BBQ sauce sweetened up with peaches and my favorite goat cheese melted on top

Turkey Burgers with Goat Cheese & Peach BBQ Sauce

  • 1 ¼ pounds ground turkey (mix of white and dark meat, no more than 93% lean)
  • ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 4 oz goat cheese
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store bought)
  • 2 tablespoons peach preserves
  • Sliced red onions optional
  • 4 hamburger buns optional


  • Mix together breadcrumbs and milk and let soak for 5 minutes
  • Add mixture to ground turkey along with garlic, seasonings and salt and pepper and use hands to combine well
  • Divide into 4 equal amounts and press gently into burger patties
  • Preheat grill to medium high to high heat
  • Add burgers and grill for 6-8 minutes per side depending on thickness (need to reach 165 degrees internally)
  • Top with a slice of goat cheese and leave on cooler side of grill for about 1 minute for cheese to melt
  • Whisk together BBQ sauce and peach preserves
  • Top each burger with a couple spoonfuls of sauce and serve on buns with fresh sliced onion or as desired
