Ingredients You’ll Need to Make Sausage Pasta Bake In A Slow Cooker…

  • penne pasta noodles
  • Alfredo sauce
  • chicken sausage
  • sausage crumbles
  • sun dried tomatoes
  • baby spinach
  • Italian cheese blend
  • Parmesan

Penne noodles are the way to go here as they seem to soak up the sauce perfectly.

Try different flavors of chicken sausage or Alfredo sauce for variety.

How To Make Sausage Pasta Bake In A Slow Cooker…

  1. Cook pasta, but stop just short of al dente
  2. Drain and add to slow cooker
  3. Cut sausages in half and slice halves 1/4 inch thick
  4. Add cut sausage, sausage crumbles, sauce, tomatoes, and cheese to slow cooker
  5. Add half cup of each type of cheese to the slow cooker
  6. Stir to combine
  7. Sprinkle top with remaining cheese
  8. Cover and cook on high 2-3 hours or low 6-7 hours

Pro Tips…

I’ve made this recipe with both regular jarred Alfredo and cauliflower jarred Alfredo sauce with great results. Cauliflower Alfredo sauce will give you some extra veggies.
Precooking the noodles helps since there isn’t a lot of added water/moisture in this recipe. Cooking noodles ahead of time makes them tender but not mushy.
Leftovers keep well in fridge up to 3 days. Make sure you store them in an airtight container.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound penne pasta noodles
  • 30 oz Alfredo sauce
  • 4 oz about 2 chicken sausages
  • 1 pound precooked sausage crumbles
  • 1/2 cup packaged sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 packed cups baby spinach leaves
  • 1 cup Italian shredded cheese blend
  • 1 cup shredded fresh Parmesan

Instructions
 

  • Cook penne pasta according to package directions, but cut the cooking time short by 1-2 minutes (just shy of al dente)
  • Drain pasta well and add to slow cooker
  • Cut sausage in half and slice halves about 1/4 inch thick
  • Add cut sausage, sausage crumbles, sauce, tomatoes, and spinach to slow cooker
  • Add 1/2 cup of each of the shredded cheese slow cooker
  • Stir to combine well
  • Sprinkle top with remaining cheese
  • Cover and cook on high 2-3 hours or low for 5-7

Notes

  • Precook the noodles, stopping just short of al dente
  • Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge up to 3 days

    This tasted really good, but the alfredo sauce burned all around the crock pot, with burned pieces of pasta stuck to it. How do you stop this from happening? I cooked it 6 hours on low. Do I need to stir it every couple of hours? I’d like to make again (with 1/2 of the sausage crumbles and more of the sliced sausage), but I don’t want to lose so much pasta and sauce to burning. Thanks.

    1. Based on the 2oz serving size suggested by the pasta box it would serve about 8. Based on how much we actually ate it I would say around 6-8 servings is about right. Of course if you are feeding some teenagers it might not go nearly as far 😉 Hope that helps!!
