My Food Photography FAQ’s
What kind of camera do you use?
When I started this blog in November of 2013 I used my Canon Powershot SX10 for several weeks until I could learn enough to know what kind of camera I needed. I then upgraded to a used Nikon D70 along with a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens. As of November 2014 I have purchased my first NEW! camera for my food blog and after months of research I finally decided on the Nikon D7100 with a Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens.
How did you learn about photography?
I’m still learning and have a lot of room to improve! However, I feel I’ve come along way since I started this journey and most of that is due to a lot of practice. The best way to learn to take photos is to take a lot of photos! I also spend time looking at my favorite photos from other bloggers and on sites like Foodgawker. I also learned so much from this amazing book I purchased when I first started out call Tasty Food Photography by Lindsay from Pinch of Yum. Her photos are beautiful and her book provides invaluable tips to those starting out and those experienced at food photography alike.
Where can I see more samples of your work?
I would love for you to check out my portfolio on JenDraper.com!
Also, see my gallery on Foodgawker.
